ZAMBOANGA CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Apr. 20, 2013) – A Muslim man suspected of carrying an illicit affair with another married woman was killed by a lone gunman as the two secretly met at a cemetery in Zamboanga City in the southern Philippines.
The 34-year old woman, who is married to a Muslim man, was not harmed by the attackers, who fled with the motorcycle of the 35-year old victim, also a Muslim.
Police is still investigating the motive of the killing. Police did not give details about the woman or whether she gave any statement to investigators, but said they were looking into the illicit affair as one of the motives for the killing.
Investigators said they recovered two .45-caliber shells from the scene of the crime. They said the assailant escaped with the victim’s motorcycle along with two other companions, who acted as lookouts. (Mindanao Examiner)
