TACURONG CITY (Mindanao Examiner / May 3, 2014) – Police arrested a man suspected as behind a grenade attack in North Cotabato province in southern Philippines, officials said Saturday.
Officials said the man, Abdul Hapid, was arrested while fleeing from the blast site in Kabacan town.
It was unknown if Hapid is a member of a rebel group and officials would not give any details about the assailant, saying investigation is still going on.
There was no report of casualties from the attack, but the blast damaged surrounding establishments, although not seriously. (Rose Muneza)
