ZAMBOANGA CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Jan. 11, 2014) – A motorcycle rider was seriously injured after he rammed on a tricycle late Saturday on a busy road in Zamboanga City in southern Philippines.
Emergency workers rushed the unconscious man to the hospital after stabilizing his vital condition in the village of Guiwan just several meters away from the provincial bus terminal.
Tricycle driver Balao Intang, of Arena Blanco, said he the motorcycle rammed his vehicle and hit him on the side pinning his leg.
“I was hurt when that motorcycle rammed by vehicle. The driver was speeding as you can see that marks on the road over there,” Intang said, pointing to the skid mark on the middle of the road.
Intang said he lost control on his tricycle and also hit another tricycle, but none of their passengers were hurt.
The identity of the injured motorcycle rider was not immediately known, but blood was seen on the road where the man landed. The impact of the collision was strong that he was thrown off his motorcycle.
It was unknown if the victim was using a crash helmet while driving his motorcycle on the wet road.(Mindanao Examiner)
