ZAMBOANGA CITY (Mindanao Examiner / May 26, 2013) – A man, whose father was killed earlier this year, was himself shot and wounded by a suspected assassin in Zamboanga City in southern Philippines, police said Sunday.

The victim, Men Hassan, 35, was resting inside his house in Sangali village, when the gunman barged and shot him repeatedly and fled on motorcycle after the shooting.

Hassan was rushed to the hospital where he told police that he believed the assassin was the same man who murdered his father Mukim Diman in the village of Tictapul.

Police investigators are looking into family feud as behind the shooting.

Gun attacks and killings are not uncommon in Zamboanga City where hired killers actively operate. Dozens of people had been shot since early this year and most of the cases remain unresolved. (Mindanao Examiner)
