DIPOLOG CITY – A masked gunman shot dead a villager in an attack Saturday in Dipolog City in Zamboanga del Norte, police said.
Police identified the victim as Al Gasapo, 42, who was just drinking with his friends when shot by the assailant. Witnesses said the gunman, who was wearing a black bonnet, arrived on a motorcycle and warned them not to make any move before shooting Gasapo in the head.
Gasapo was instantly killed in the attack. The gunman fled after the shooting.
Police investigators also recovered two bullet casing of .45-caliber pistol in the area. The motive and the perpetrator of the killing are still unknown. (Mindanao Examiner)
