GENERAL SANTOS CITY (Mindanao Examiner / July 2, 2013) – Local mayor Ronnel Rivera has started his working days in General Santos City in southern Philippines with various meetings and conferences with different groups in an effort to bring his government closer to the people.

Rivera vowed to fulfill his task in building a better General Santos City which he included in his inaugural address and said there is a need merge and re-define and collaborate or modify all efforts to achieve a progressive economy and peaceful environment.

“We will not cut back, we shall move forward,” he said, referring to his vision of making General Santos as one of the most progressive and peaceful cities in Mindanao.

The mayor also presided a meeting with leaders of the South Cotabato Swine Producers Association at City Hall. He said he envisions General Santos City as a center to agro-industrial, financial and service hub in the southern region. (With a report from Russel Delvo)
