Militar, handa na sa ARMM voters’ registration

ZAMBOANGA CITY (Mindanao Examiner / June 19, 2012) – Handa na umano ang militar sa siguridad na ipatutupad nito sa general registration of voters sa Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) matapos na makipag-pulong ang Commission of Elections sa mga commanders nito sa Zamboanga City.

“Okay naman yun conference and as a matter of fact eh talagang handa na naman ang military sa siguridad sa ibat-ibang lugar sa registration period,” ani Col. Daniel Lucero, commander ng 103rd Infantry Brigade sa Lanao de Sur province, sa panayam ng Mindanao Examiner.

Inaasahan na magsisimula ang voters’ registration sa July 9 at magtatapos sa July 18. Ang ARMM ay kinabibilangan ng Bansilan, Sulu, Tawi-Tai, Maguindanao at Lanao del Sur at tradisyonal na magulo ang mga naturang lugar sa tuwing may halalan.

Nuong nakaraang eleksyon ay naka-sentro ang pagbabantay sa Lanao del Sur at Lanao del Norte dahil sa kaguluhan doon. Ang lalawigan ng Sulu naman ang pinakatahimik sa nakaraang halalan.

Magdedeploy umano si Lucero ng sapat na bilang ng mga sundalo upang masigurong tahimik at mapayapa ang mga araw ng registration. Kasama ng militar sa pagbabantay ang buong puwersa ng pulisya sa ARMM. (Mindanao Examiner)
