PAGADIAN CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Dec. 6, 2013) – A government militia shot and killed a civilian in the southern Filipino province of Zamboanga del Sur, police said Friday.
Police said the 25-year old Nilo Aragones was watching a basketball game at Purok Uno in the village of Sigacad in Bayog town when he was shot by Elmer Aguilar, 29, a local militia member.
Aragones died instantly after being shot in the head. Aguilar quickly fled after the shooting and police are still investigating the murder. The motive of the attack is unknown.
Police said it deployed forces to track down Aguilar. (Mindanao Examiner)
