PAGADIAN CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Aug. 25, 2013) – An unidentified motorcycle gunman shot dead two people in an attack in Pagadian City in the southern Philippine province of Zamboanga del Sur, police said Sunday.
Police said the victims – Ariel Duyag, 26, and Elroy Acain, 27 – were shot several times in the village called Gubang.
Investigators said they recovered eight bullet casings fired from a 9mm pistol.
“Investigation further revealed that the real target of the suspect was Elroy, who allegedly swindled bettors during cockfighting at Barangay Macasing in July,” said Chief Inspector Ariel Huesca, a regional police spokesman.
Huesca said police are still investigating the killings. (Mindanao Examiner)
