ZAMBOANGA CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Apr. 21, 2013) – Two motorcycle gunmen shot dead a young man in the village of Guiwan in Zamboanga City in Western Mindanao, police said.
It said the 23-year old Ivan Ervin Pulmano was shot several times in the body by the gunmen who fled after the killing. Pulmano, who was a known drag racer, was driving his car when gunmen shot him.
Police said Pulmano suffered four gunshot wounds and was rushed to hospital, but died along the way.
Investigators said they recovered bullet shells fired from .45-caliber pistol. No individual claimed responsibility for the attack and the motive of the killing is still being investigated.
Gun attacks and killings are not uncommon in Zamboanga City where hired killers actively operate. (Mindanao Examiner)
