
ZAMBOANGA SIBUGAY (Mindanao Examiner / Nov. 26, 2013) – Motorcycle gunmen killed a 28-year old woman in an attack in the town of Buug in Zamboanga Sibugay province in southern Philippines, police said Tuesday.
Police said Sherlyn Anil was killed along the highway in the village of Basalem. Anil was driving her car with two other passengers – Dory Nisas, 37 and her daughter Kiziah, 4 – when the gunmen shot her.
The assailants fled after the shooting. The Nisas were unhurt from the attack, according to the police.
The trio came from Picanan village in Kumalarang town in Zamboanga del Sur and was returning home when the attack occurred. Anil was instantly killed from the attack.
Police said six bullet casings from a .45-caliber pistol were recovered not far from the scene. Police are investigating the murder. Anil’s family has not issued any statement about the motive of the killing. (Mindanao Examiner)
