Mount Apo nasusunog

DAVAO CITY – Isang malaking sunog ang sumiklab sa Mount Apo sa bahagi ng Davao at North Cotabato at pahirapan na maupula ito dahil sa kumalat na umano ito sa mahigit sa 200 ektarya sa tuktok nito.

Nabatid na nagsimula ang apoy kamakalawa pa at patuloy pa rin itong gumagapang at nagbabadya sa iba pang bahagi ng kabundukan. Hindi pa malamang ng mga awtoridad ang pinagmulan ng apoy o kung ito ba ay dahil sa mga campers o sanhi ng bush fire dulot ng El Nino.

Nagsimula ang apoy sa isang camp site sa itaas ng Mount Apo, ngunit wala namang inulat na casualties o sugatan sa sunog. Tanging aerial operations lamang umano ang maaaring isagawa upang ma-kontrol ang pagkalat ng apoy.

Problema rin ang malakas na hangin sa bundok na siyang dahilan ng pagkalat ng apoy. Ipinagbawal na rin ang pag-akyat sa Mount Apo habang patuloy ang sunog doon. (Mindanao Examiner)
