SULU – The local chapter of the Mindanao State University Alumni Association has praised Sulu Vice Governor Sakur Tan for his continued and full support to its activities.

Tan was recently invited as the keynote speaker during the induction of new officers of the Mindanao State University Alumni Association here.

Dr. Al-Anwar Anzar was elected as the new alumni president and replaced Dr. Samsula Adju and the induction of the new officers was also attended by Dr. Adjaral Hapas, the Mindanao State University Chancellor. Both Adju and Hapas also thanked Tan for his support.

In his speech, Tan also thanked Mindanao State University for inviting him to grace the important occasion and congratulated the new set of alumni officers.

“I am privileged to be among the company of knowledgeable products of Mindanao State University who formed themselves into an alumni association with the elected officers of the Sulu Chapter we are inducting today. As alumni of MSU you are to be considered the cream of your crop, the keepers of the traditions of the MSU institution,” he said.

Tan, a known ‘workaholic,’ is largely credited for developing Sulu during his time as governor of Sulu. (Ahl-franzie Salinas)
