ZAMBOANGA CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Nov. 9, 2012) – Motorcycle gunmen shot dead a Muslim man and his daughter and wounded his son in an attack in Zamboanga City in the southern Philippines, police said Friday.
It said the gunmen tailed Jack Lahaman who fetched his daughter and son from school in Labuan village and shot them before they could reach their house.
Lahaman was on a motorcycle and his two children were seated in the front and rear when the attackers opened fire with .45-caliber pistols and hitting the trio.
Police said Lahaman was a traffic enforcer in Lamitan City in Basilan, but transferred to Zamboanga. His wife said Lahaman had no known enemies.
No individual or group claimed responsibility for the killings, but gun attacks are not uncommon in Zamboanga where more than 150 people had been killed since early this year. (Mindanao Examiner)
