ZAMBOANGA CITY – A Muslim village official was stabbed several times inside a disco pub in Zamboanga City in southern Philippines, police said.
Police said Ismael Sadaddin, 40, was inside the rest room of Fantacy Disco Pub when Bryan Yap, 28, attacked him with a fan knife. Yap, who works as security guard for Jetski Security Agency, attempted to escape after the attack, but was collared by policemen.
Yap told police investigators that Sadaddin, a village official in Tawi-Tawi’s Bongao town, had been staring sharply at him while they were drinking in separate table inside the club.
The club’s security guard, Henry Eijansantos, said Yap deposited his knife before entering the pub and later got it back only to run inside and stabbed the victim.
Police said Sadaddin was stabbed six times and had been rushed to hospital. It was unknown whether Sadaddin was alone in the club, but drinking alcohol is strictly forbidden among Muslims, especially during the holy month of Ramadan. (Mindanao Examiner)
