MANILA (Mindanao Examiner / July 24, 2012) – A Filipino newspaper columnist who was shot in the head in a burglary has died in hospital, his family said Tuesday.
Police said four armed men barged into the house of Allyxon Kua, 43, and shot the woman and her brother Nixon Kua, 49, in Laguna province outside Manila.The elder Kua, who wrote for the Philippine Star, died on Monday night from bullet wounds.
Police identified the assailants as Noel Garcia, John Rey Cortez, Michael Molino and Darwin Saniano. The four men were arrested late Monday in the province.
Kua was a lifetime member of the National Press Club. (Mindanao Examiner)
