GENERAL SANTOS CITY – More than 1,100 students have received their certificates of scholarship here as part of the “EduKar Gensan” program of the local government.
Mayor Ronnel Rivera, who recently led the distribution of scholarship certificates, thanked all those who supported the program, including partner schools.

“Sa atong mga partner schools, thank you very much. Nalipay gyud ko because well-supported sa atong mga partner schools ang EduKAR Gensan as a program of our local government. I would also like to thank our 18th City Council, especially our Committee Chairperson on Education, Councilor Lita Nuñez and former Vice Mayor Shirlyn Bañas Nograles nga wala gyu’y reklamo pagdugang nato ug scholars, diretso gyud gi aprobahan,” Rivera said.
He also signed memorandum of agreement with partner schools for the beneficiaries of EduKAR and said the local government will increase the number of scholars by 10% every year. “We will have an increase of scholars 10% per year, that’s our commitment,” Rivera said.
