
PAGADIAN CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Nov. 26, 2013) – A local businesswoman was shot and wounded by motorcycle gunmen who opened fire at her vehicle in Pagadian City in Zamboanga del Sur province in southern Philippines, police said.
Police said the 38-year old Sophia Suhuri was shot several times by the gunmen at Purok Bougainvilla 1 in San Pedro village and fled after the attack.
Suhuri, who lives at NJK Subdivision at Purok Talisay in the village of Kawit, was brought to hospital for gunshot wounds in the legs.
Investigators said the gunmen tailed Suhuri’s vehicle and shot her with .45-caliber pistol upon reaching the village. No individual claimed responsibility for the shooting. Police said it is investigating the attack.
Gun attacks and killings are common in Pagadian City where hired killers actively operate and many of the cases remain unsolved. (Mindanao Examiner)
