PAGADIAN CITY – A man who killed his wife and took hostage his own son was shot dead after he tried to attack policemen who were negotiating with him to surrender peacefully in Pagadian City in Zamboanga del Sur province.
Police said Rene Boy Rellon, Sr., stabbed his wife, Martiniana, following a heated argument inside their house at dawn Friday.
His son, Rene Boy Jr., managed to flee the house with his sister Rina, as their father held their younger brother Ariel and threatened to kill him too.
The body of the slain woman was recovered outside their house. Police said the man was believed suffering from a mental illness. (Mindanao Examiner)
