
PAGADIAN CITY (Mindanao Examiner / June 5, 2013) – A village leader was injured after a grenade attack before dawn Wednesday in Pagadian City in Zamboanga del Sur province in southern Philippines, police said.
Police said the grenade exploded outside the house of Dumagoc village leader Judith Adal, 48.
It said Adal’s family was shaken by the blast. The woman suffered an injury in his hand and was rushed by her family to the hospital.
Inspecor Ariel Huesca, a regional police spokesman, said an MK2 hand grenade was used in the attack. “Police recovered the grenade’s safety lever, fuse, spring and shrapnel from the area,” he said.
He said authorities are investigating the attack. No individual or group claimed responsibility for the blast. (Mindanao Examiner)
