DAVAO CITY – Police and military on Tuesday recovered an attaché case abandoned in a subdivision near private residence of President Rodrigo Duterte in Davao City in southern Philippines.
Civilians discovered the attaché case at Dona Luisa Village in Quimpo Boulevard and reported it the authorities. Policemen and soldiers quickly cordoned off the area while a K9 unit inspected then attaché case.
No explosive or bomb was found inside the attaché case which only contained coins. A villager later claimed the attaché case, saying, he accidentally left in the area.
On Monday, a backpack was also abandoned near an eatery in San Pedro Street. The bag contained a laptop computer and cell phone and was traced to a local teacher.
Just this month, two mortar bombs had been detonated by a Filipino terrorist at a crowded night market in Davao City killing 14 people and wounding over 70 others. (Mindanao Examiner)
