MANILA (Mindanao Examiner / Oct. 28, 2012) – A Philippine town mayor died in hospital after being shot in the head by a lone gunman in the province of Camarines Sur in Bicol region.
Lupi Mayor Leo Raul Matamorosa never recovered from his wound after he was shot over the weekend outside a television repair shop in Naga. The 45-year old politician was rushed to hospital, but doctors failed to save his life.
His family said the mayor went to the shop to have his television set repaired, but a gunman, who probably tailed the politician, attacked him with a .45-caliber pistol and escaped after the shooting.
The motive in the daring attack is still unknown. (Mindanao Examiner)
