MANILA (Mindanao Examiner / Aug. 22, 2014) – The Department of Transportation and Communications and the Manila International Airport Authority said a P32-million improvement project at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila is expected to be completed this year.

The project includes the installation of major fixtures such as water closets, sensor-type urinals, lavatories, tiles, ceilings, and waterproofing works. The agencies said at least 15% of civil works are expected to be completed this month.

More than 100 rest rooms at Terminals 2, 3 and 4 are also undergoing repairs and rehabilitation.

The MIAA said it is also installing new air-conditioning units at Terminals 1 and 2.

The NAIA Terminal 1 Rehabilitation Project, which involves structural retrofitting and other engineering works, is also ongoing and scheduled to normalize operations by the end of February next year.
