Pinoy Guinness World Record holder Junrey Balawing, knocked out!

ZAMBOANGA CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Feb. 23, 2012) – Naagaw ng isang 72-anyos na Nepalese ang korona kay Pinoy Guiness World Record holder Junrey Balawing bilang pinakamaliit na tao.

Si Chandra Bahadur Dangi ay may taas lamang na 21 ½ pulgada at mas maliit ng 5.3 sentimetro kay Junrey, 18.


Pormal na rin na inanunsyo ni Guinness World Records editor-in-chief Craig Glenday ang bagong titulo na nakuha ni Dangi. At kahit si Glenday ay hindi makapaniwala na mayroong pang mas maliit kay Junrey.

Si Dangi rin ang pinakamatanda sa naturang titulo.

Hindi naman agad makunan ng pahayag si Junrey o ang pamilya nito at posibleng maudlot na rin ang biyahe nito sa Abril sa Italy para sa isang photo shoot kasama si Sultan Kosen, ng Turkey, na siya naman ‘world’s tallest man’ dahil sa tayo nitong 8’3”.

Tubong-Sindangan sa lalawigan ng Zamboanga del Norte si Junrey at unang pumutok ang pangalan nito matapos na madiskubre sa kanilang bayan dahil sa kanyang pagiging maliit na mataas lamang ng kaunti sa isang family size na bote ng soft drink.
Kasama sana ni Junrey ang mga magulang sa kanyang paglalakbay sa Italy at excited na umano ito.
Nakuha ni Junrey – na ipinanganak nuong Hunyo 12, 1993 – ang korona ng ‘Guinness World Records’ mula kay Khagendra Thapa Magar, ng Nepal na may taas lamang ng 2’ 2 1/3”. (Mindanao Examiner)
