ZAMBOANGA CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Nov. 1, 2013) – Two motorcycle riders were killed in a crash in Zamboanga City in the southern Philippines, police said Friday.
Police said the driver, Dioniso Encabo, 53, and his passenger, Jaime Escorial, 49, were both killed after their motorcycle rammed the perimeter wall of the Edwin Andrew’s Air Base along the red light district of Governor Camins Avenue.
The impact of the crash was so hard that Encabo, an employee of the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company; and Escorial, a waiter, had been thrown away 23 meters from their motorcycle.
Police said the accident occurred before dawn on October 30. It was unknown whether Encabo and Escorial were drank or not, or whether the duo was trying to beat the curfew hours.
Zamboanga is still under curfew beginning 12 midnight up to 4 a.m. (Mindanao Examiner)
