ZAMBOANGA CITY – Police arrested 3 brothers and seized weapons and components for homemade explosives, including illegal drugs during a sting operation Tuesday in Zamboanga City in southern Philippines, officials said.
Officials said the three men Khadaffy, Murshdi, and Abduraup Wahi were arrested in the village of Cawit. Policemen seized 55 pounds of ammonium nitrate, more than 100 blasting caps and concrete nails.
Police are still investigating whether the three brothers have links with the Abu Sayyaf group, blamed by authorities for the spate of attacks and kidnappings in the southern region. (Mindanao Examiner – Ely Dumaboc)
