ZAMBOANGA SIBUGAY (Mindanao Examiner / Apr. 18, 2014) – Police arrested a man who hacked his neighbor in the southern Philippine province of Zamboanga Sibugay.
Police said store owner Roel Alba, 34, was arrested for hacking Bernadie Intol, 33, in the village of Guilawa in Malangas town. The attack occurred just as Intol was about to confront Alba who allegedly uttered bad words to her daughter whom he sent her to return the cigarettes she bought at his store.
The girl told his father about what happened and Intol went out of his house to confront Alba for his abusive behavior. But Alba immediately hacked him with a bolo even before he could speak.
Intol, who sustained several hacked wounds on his left arm and contusion on his head, was rushed to the hospital in nearby Diplahan town. (Mindanao Examiner)
