
ZAMBOANGA CITY (Mindanao Examiner / May 28, 2013) – A drunken government teacher is facing charges after he assaulted a police officer who booked him in Zamboanga City in southern Philippines.
Marlon Marquez, who teaches at the Limpapa National High School, suddenly grabbed police investigator Roberto Millan II by his collar and slammed his face against the iron bars of his detention cell.
Millan was investigating the Marquez when he assaulted the officer. Police said there were complaints against Marquez for violating the law on Anti-Violence against Women and their Children.
Millan has filed charges in court against the teacher, who eventually posted bail for his temporary liberty.
There was no immediate statement from the Department of Education about Marquez. (Mindanao Examiner)
