ZAMBOANGA CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Jan. 21, 2014) – Three men riding on a motorcycle robbed a group of friends after cornering them in downtown Zamboanga, police said.
Police said the trio robbed Romel Bustamante, Ronnie Alico and Edwin Maatubang while they were walking along Villalobos Street, just several blocks away from City Hall. The victims said the men took their mobile phones and fled after the robbery.
The victims informed police about the incident and provided authorities with the description of the three men and the license plate of their motorcycle.
“The victims together with their three other friends were walking on their way home from Paseo Del Mar (park) and when they reached Villalobos Street, particularly near the vicinity of Chong Hua School (High School), three unidentified suspects on board single motorcycle stopped in front of them in which two riders disembarked and forcibly took their cellular phones,” police said.
Police are coordinating with the Land Transportation Office to determine the owner of the motorcycle. (Mindanao Examiner)
