
ZAMBOANGA CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Dec. 6, 2013) – Police on Friday said a man who was on his way to fetch a midwife to help his wife give birth was shot in Zamboanga City in southern Philippines.
Police said Ruben Barrera was shot in the village of Curuan by a lone gunman, who fled after the attack. Barrera was rushed to the hospital, but his condition is still unknown.
The motive of the attack was not immediately known, but police said the shooter had been identified and that officers were sent to track him down in Zamboanga.
Criminal charges were also being readied against the gunman. (Mindanao Examiner)
