ZAMBOANGA CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Apr. 21, 2013) – Four police officers and 2 civilians were injured after their jeep ploughed into a creek in Zamboanga City in southern Philippines while rushing a wounded man to hospital , a regional police spokesman said.
Insp. Ariel Huesca said the officers – SPO2 Cesar Rabuya, SPO1 Mitchel Bannister, SPO1 Edgardo Mondarte and PO3 Regalado Marquez, and the civilians Ronald Bejerano and ten-year old Leonisa Ramones – sustained injuries and were rushed to hospital.
He said the policemen were on their way to the hospital to bring Ramones’ father Samuel, who was shot in the village of Vitali. The man never reached the hospital alive because of the road accident. Huesca said the jeep lost its brake and fell into the creek. (Mindanao Examiner)
