Officials said two civilians were also wounded in the cross-fire in the village of Labuan where the fighting erupted.
Three other people escaped, one of them wanted for killing two civilians in the village, and are now being hunted down by the police.
Officials said the fighting broke out after gunmen opened fire on a police patrol sent to the area after civilians tipped off authorities about the presence of the illegal loggers. (Mindanao Examiner)
