MATI CITY (Mindanao Examiner / May 12, 2012) – Police have released the composite images of two gunmen who killed radio broadcaster Nestor Libaton in Mati City in the southern Philippine province of Davao Oriental.

Libaton, 45, was shot on Mayo 8 by motorcycle gunmen who tailed him and his companion Eldon Cruz who were also on a motorcycle.

Superintendent Anthony Placido, the deputy provincial police chief and head of the Task Force Libaton, said witnesses to the killing provided information about the killers’ facial profile.

He said police forces are now hunting the killers, but the motive of the attack is still unknown.

Libaton’s colleagues said he was a hard-working man and had no known enemies, although he handled two radio programs in dxHM which is being run by the Diocese of Mati. (With a report from Cesar Lanos)
