PAGADIAN CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Dec. 30, 2013) – Police arrested at least 2 people and seized a huge stockpile of firecrackers being illegally sold in the cities of Pagadian and Dipolog in southern Philippines.
Police said charges are being readied against those arrested for allegedly selling firecrackers.
Regional police spokesman, Chief Inspector Ariel Huesca, who also heads the Firearms, Explosive, Security Agencies and Guards Section or FESAGS, led the operations against illegal selling of firecrackers.
In Dipolog, the police confiscated so many firecrackers and pyrotechnics in many stalls around the city that officials spent a long time in conducting an inventory of the hazardous items.
The firecrackers were deposited to the local police office pending the filing of appropriate charges in court against the retailers. (Mindanao Examiner)
