
ZAMBOANGA CITY (Mindanao Examiner / July 4, 2013) – Two persons were wounded in a shootout Thursday between policemen and drug pushers in Zamboanga City in southern Philippines, officials said.
Officials said the injured were daughters of Aljid Hairul, who managed to escape along with Nushra Araluddin, who were tagged by the police as notorious drug pushers in Zamboanga.
The clash occurred in the coastal village of Rio Hondo following a botched drug sting.
Policemen recovered from Araluddin’s hideout suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or locally known as “shabu” and two hand guns, including a military uniform.
The wounded were brought to the Zamboanga Medical Center. Officials said the two were hit by stray bullets.
