‘Power Up Run’ successful in Cotabato

COTABATO CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Jan. 31, 2013) – Hundreds of health buffs and sportsmen participated in the Philippine Air Force “Power Up Run” held in Cotabato City in Mindanao.

Philippine Air Force Tactical Operation Group 12 headed by Col. Fernyl Buca, who was one of the organizers of the marathon, said the event went on successfully. He said he was overwhelmed by the support of various sector to the Power Up Run.

Buca said the fun run was in partnership with the Cotabato Host Lions Club and 7th ARCEN (Reservist).

He said the 3-kilometer and 5 kilometer-run was held for the benefit of the Awang Elementary School in Datu Odin Sinsuat town in Maguindanao province. He said the proceeds from the fun run would be used for the rehabilitation of classrooms and for additional computers sets for students. (Mindanao Examiner. Mark Navales)
