Saudi Arabia condemns terror attacks in Pakistan, Afghanistan – Arab News

Editor January 26, 2016

The expansion of the Yanbu Aramco Sinopec Refining Company agreement and opening of the King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center in Riyadh showed the level of cooperation between the two nations, said the ministers at Monday’s Cabinet meeting.

The Cabinet appreciated the outcome of the visit made by the Pakistani prime minister and praised the statement issued by the Saudi-Egyptian Coordination Council in Cairo on the progress made on several issues of mutual benefit.
The ministers condemned the terror attacks on a university in northwest Pakistan, and in the center of Kabul in Afghanistan, which it said violates Islamic teachings, values and humanitarian principles.
Later, the Cabinet approved several decisions including the partition of agricultural land in the Al-Arab, Jubaila, Wadi Hanifa, Twaiq and Arabian Shield regions, which do not have sources of water for drinking purposes.
There would also be separation and clearance of donated lands, those sold to government agencies or a company to run a public utility, allocated for charity endowments, and others sequestrated by the government.
Other partitions would include land separated by government irrigation channels in AL-Ahsa and Jouf regions, or those separated by roads, power towers, valleys or mountains. There should also be the partitioning of land set out to be inherited.
This partitioning or separation of land should be based on a plan approved by the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs, which has to coordinate all decisions with the Ministry of Agriculture in terms of regulations and technical conditions.
The minimum area of a farm after partition should be at least 10,000 square meters within certain urban areas or 50,000 square meters elsewhere. Various ministries, including the Ministry of Water and Electricity should draft bylaws to streamline the development of farming land.
In other decisions, the Cabinet authorized the Ministry of Defense to sign a memorandum of understanding with Malaysia and approved a framework agreement between the Ministry of Agriculture in the Kingdom with the Ministry of Water Resources and Electricity in Sudan regarding the Upper Atbara Agricultural Project.
The Cabinet authorized the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to discuss with Indonesia a draft memorandum of understanding in the areas of documentation and archives; and approved a maritime cooperation agreement with South Korea.
The Cabinet further authorized the National Anti-Corruption Commission to discuss a draft memorandum of understanding with Malaysia.(ARAB NEWS)
