
BASILAN PROVINCE (Mindanao Examiner / June 9, 2014) – Police and military arrested Monday an Abu Sayyaf militant linked to kidnappings for ransom and killings in Basilan province in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao in southern Philippines, officials said.
Moraham Ameng was arrested by policemen, who were backed by soldiers, in the village of Bulan-bulan in Lantawan town. A civilian informant was said to be responsible for the arrest of Ameng, who reportedly has a P600,000 bounty for his capture.
Ameng was brought to Zamboanga City where he is currently being interrogated for dozens of kidnappings and murders in Basilan.
No other details were made available either by the police or the army about Ameng. (Mindanao Examiner)
