DAVAO CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Dec. 20, 2012) – Security forces, aided by tribesmen, raided a marijuana plantation in the southern Philippines, but officials said there had been no arrest made.
Lt. Col. Lyndon Paniza, a spokesman for the 10th Infantry Division, said soldiers and policemen destroyed at least 150 fully grown plants in Davao del Sur’s Kiblawan town.
He said B’laan tribesmen tipped off the military about the illegal plantation. He did not say who owned the marijuana field.
He said Army Capt. Joel Wayagwag, commander of the Task Force KITACO, who led the raid, handed over seized marijuana plants to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.
No other details were made available by the military and police. (Mindanao Examiner)
