ZAMBOANGA CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Aug. 09, 2012) – Police have launched a manhunt for a man who killed his neighbour after a quarrel over a broken water pipe in the southern Filipino port city of Zamboanga.
Police said the assailant, Jester Walisani, 36, hacked and killed Danilo Bellesar, 50, in the village of Upper Calarian. The duo engaged in a heated argument over the broken pipe.
Walisani, police said, ran inside his house and got a bolo and went out to attack Bellesar.
It was not immediately known what triggered Walisani to attack his neighbour, but police spokesman Alex Mabalot said authorities are now searching for the suspect.
“There is an operation to track down Walisani,” Mabalot told the Mindanao Examiner. (Angelie Cahulugan)
