ZAMBOANGA CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Feb. 15, 2014) – Police are searching for village watchman who shot a 19-year old student in an attack in Zamboanga City in southern Philippines.
Police said Arnel Maut was accused of shooting Efraim Khan Jamilon near the Barigon Bridge in Tugbungan village. Maut escaped after the attack leaving Jamilon bloodied and wounded and had to be rushed to hospital to save his life.
The motive of the attack is unknown, but police said both Jamilon – a 3rd year at the Universidad De Zamboanga – and the assailant are both residents of the area. Police said Jamilon was attacked with a shotgun.
