
MAGUINDANAO (Mindanao Examiner / June 26, 2012) – Motorcycle enthusiasts and riders from Davao and Iligan ended a successful two days of “Tactical Challenge” held in Maguindanao province in the southern Philippines.
The event was conducted and hosted by the 38th Infantry Battalion of the 6th Infantry Division and spearheaded by Col. Benjie Langub in Datu Odin Sinsuat town.
The participants completed the army briefings on topics about grenades, landmines, booby traps, explosives and improvised explosive devices, rappel, rope and obstacle courses and rifle marksmanship training, among others.
The event, participated by members of the Davao Speedometrix Moto Club headed by Julius Espejon, and Iligan Fury Moto Club under Danilo Origenes, promoted camaraderie and improved the physical fitness and endurance among the riders.
As part of its itinerary, the participants also visited the “Grand Mosque,” the biggest in the Philippines, and other beautiful places in Maguindanao, one of five provinces under the Muslim autonomous region.
The riders at the same time vowed to promote peace and unity and to sell the province as a tourism destination and erase the negative apprehension about Maguindanao. It also aimed to promote Maguindanao’s rich culture and tradition.
The Tactical Challenge ended with a fellowship night graced by Maguindanao Vice Governor Samsudin Dimaukom, who also assisted in the giving of plaque and certificates to the benefactors and participants of the event.
