SULU – Governor Totoh Tan led Friday’s turnover of over a dozen housing units to poor families in the capital town of Jolo. The newly-constructed houses were donated by the Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship-GoNegosyo and its Kapatid Network in partnership with the provincial government and Sulu Provincial Women’s Council (SPWC).

The ceremony at the Jolo Kapatid Village in Kajatian was also attended by GoNegosyo and representatives from MVP Group of Companies headed by Ana Margarita Malvar, of GoNegosyo who thanked Tan and other officials and locals and other stakeholders for the warmth welcome.

Tan led the awarding of certificate of ownership to the beneficiaries, who thanked all those who contributed to the construction of the housing units, including President Rodrigo Duterte for his peace and development projects in Sulu.

The provincial government and the SPWC also distributed school supplies donated by National Bookstore for all elementary school pupils in the province. A ceremonial distribution of school supplies was also held at the Port Area Elementary School and Marterez Elementary School. The following schools also received the supplies – Panglima Mamah Elementary School in Indanan town, Maimbung Higad Elementary School, and Sultan Jamalul Kiram Elementary School.

Tan, together with SPWC President Shihla Tan and Vice Governor Nurunisah Tan along with Malvar and other officials also interacted with the students during the event.  “There are more projects coming and we are thankful to those who contributed to all these peace and development efforts, especially President Duterte who is really behind all these benevolent projects intended for the poor people of Sulu,” Tan said.
