Sundalo, isinabit sa extra-judicial killing sa Bukidnon

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – Isang tribal leader na aktibo sa pakikibaka na kanilang karapatan ang pinatay diumano ng isang sundalo ng Philippine Army sa bayan ng San Fernando sa lalawigan ng Bukidnon.

Ayon sa ulat ng ABS-CBN, pinasok ng sundalo kasama ang iba pa, ang bahay ni Asang Araño sa Barangay Iglusad at pinagbabaril ito hanggang sa mapatay.

Miyembro rin si Araño ng Federation of San Fernando Matigsalug Tigwahanon and Manobo Tribes, na umaayaw sa mining operations sa ancestral domain ng mga natibo.

Hindi pa mabatid ang motibo sa pagpatay, ngunit iniimbestigahan na umano ng pulisya ang krimen. Walang inilabas na anumang pahayag ang Philippine Army, ngunit sakop ng 4th Infantry Division ang lalawigan ng Bukidnon.

Ilang ulit ng ibinibintang ng mga human rights groups sa militar ang maraming mga human rights violations at extra-judicial killings sa Mindanao, partikular ang mga sibilyan na hinihinalang supporters ng New People’s Army. (Mindanao Examiner)
