Surrender now or else…

Chief Editor August 4, 2016

MAGUINDANAO – Police authorities have urged personalities who are allegedly included in President Rodrigo Duterte’s list of those involved in the illegal drug trade or protecting drug lords in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao to surrender peacefully and clear their names of the accusations.

Acting ARMM police chief Agripino Javier did not identify those in the list, but Duterte has recently said that he will name them publicly – mostly local government executives – in due time.

ARMM is composed of the provinces of Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao, Basilan, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi, and the cities of Marawi and Lamitan. Last month, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency arrested Johaira Abinal alias Mayora Marimar and her partner Suharto Macabuat in Cagayan de Oro City and seized illegal drugs from their house. Abinal is reportedly included in Duterte’s drug list.

In Maguindanao province, Talitay town Mayor Montasir Sabal recently surfaced to “clear his name” after he was implicated by the police in the illegal drug trade. Sabal denied all allegations against him. (Moh Saaduddin)
