ZAMBOANGA CITY (Mindanao Examiner / July 27, 2013) – A special police team has captured a suspected gun-for-hire, who was allegedly involved in a recent robbery in Zamboanga City in southern Philippines, officials said Saturday.
Officials said police are now investigating Joel Into, who was arrested in his hideout in the village of Tetuan.
Into was also tagged as behind the robbery on a Chinese trader in the village of Guiwan.
It was unknown how many people had Into killed or who contracted him to carry out the murders, but his capture was praised by local officials.
Gun attacks are not uncommon in Zamboanga where hired killers actively operate and many of the killings remain unresolved. (Dodong Ramos)
