DAVAO CITY – Motorcycle gunmen ambushed a prominent lawyer in a daring broad daylight attack Monday in Tagum City in the southern Philippine province of Davao del Norte, police said.
It said Connie Villamor was driving her car when the gunmen drove by her side and shot her several times through the window.
The assailants escaped after the shooting, according to Inspector Jeffrey Bangcas.
Police were investigating the motive of the killing. It was not immediately known whether the attack was connected to Villamor’s work as a lawyer or not.
Bangcas did not say if the attack was captured by security cameras in the area. (Mindanao Examiner)
