COTABATO CITY (Mindanao Examiner / May 1, 2013) – A fire broke out late Wednesday in one of the campaign headquarters of President Benigno Aquino’s Liberal Party in Maguindanao’s Sultan Kudarat town in southern Philippines, authorities said.
It said the LP headquarters were empty when the fire broke out. Several other houses were also razed by the fire, but there were no reports of casualties.
Authorities were investigating whether the fire was deliberately set or whether it was caused by a faulty electrical wiring connection.
The headquarters were also being used by Maguindanao Gov. Esmael Mangudadatu, who is running again for the May 13 local and national polls against the influential and respected United Nationalist Alliance frontliner Tucao Mastura.. (Mindanao Examiner)
