Teenager killed in own farm in Zamboanga Sur

PAGADIAN CITY (Mindanao Examiner / July 27, 2014) – A teenager who was gathering fallen coconuts on their farm was fatally shot by a gunman in the town of Tambulig in Zamboanga del Sur province, police said on Sunday.

Police said Joseph Flores, 15, was with his mother when the gunman suddenly appeared and without warning opened fire on the victim and killing him instantly in the village of Lower Liason. The assailant escaped after the shooting leaving behind the teenager’s mother.

A villager, Jerry Amrad, phoned the police to report the murder and police said the victim was shot several times hitting him in the head and body.

The motive of the killing is still unknown. Police said it is investigating the murder. (Mindanao Examiner)
