PAGADIAN CITY (Mindanao Examiner / July 10, 2013) – Motorcycle gunmen killed a teenager and wounded her sister in an attack in Pagadian City in the southern Philippine province of Zamboanga del Sur, police said Wednesday.
It said the two sisters – Sarah Jane Malagar, 16, and Jane Rose Malagar, 18, – were just standing in front of a bar along Jamisola Extension when the gunmen stopped in front of them and without any warning shot the duo.
The assailants escaped after the shooting leaving behind the two teenagers bloodied and fighting for their life. The duo was brought to hospital, but Jane Rose died along the way. The condition of her sister is still unknown.
Police said crime scene investigators recovered bullet casings of .45-caliber pistol in the area. It said the teenagers were shot several times.
The motive of the attack is still unknown and no witness has come forward to help police in the investigation. Gun attacks are not uncommon in Pagadian City, the center of the regional government agencies in Western Mindana0. (Mindanao Examiner)
